Dr Kristin Carson

Kristin holds many titles including the Young Australian of the Year for South Australia, the Premier’s Channel 9 Young Achiever of the Year and one of Australia’s 100 Women of Influence. Not knowing what direction to take after school, her decision to study a Diploma of Laboratory Technology at TAFE SA changed her life, leading to a PhD and career as a Senior Medical Research Scientist at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Kristin’s research has been used to underpin guidelines, policy and clinical practice for medical disease management around the world and her work in Aboriginal health has led to collaborations with the Port Adelaide Football Club, Australian of the Year 2014, Adam Goodes, and other inspirational people.
