When is Science Alive?

Science Alive! will run from 9am-5pm on 24-26 May 2019 in Geelong, and 9am-5pm on 2-4 August 2019 at Adelaide Showground.


Where is Science Alive held?

Science Alive‘s main events will take place at the Adelaide Showground, a five-minute drive out of Adelaide’s CBD, and GMHBA Stadium, easily accessible via public transport. Information on the location of the satellite events can be found here.


Where should I park?

There are multiple carparking spaces available at the Adelaide Showground, the closest of which is the North West Car Park, accessible via Rose Tce. Further information can be be found via the Adelaide Showground website.

Carparking is available at the GMHBA Stadium and in the surrounding Kardina Park area. Further information can via found via the GMHBA Stadium website.



Do I need to buy tickets for the Lockheed Martin Theatre or the Naval Group Stage shows?

No, all performances within Science Alive! are included in the price of your entry ticket. You don’t need to book ahead.


How can schools get involved?

Each year, Science Alive! holds a preview event at both the Adelaide Showground and GMHBA Stadium for schools and students from years 7-12. If your school is interested in attending, please see our Careers Day page for details.


Can I attend the Science Alive Careers Day even if I am not in years 7-12?

Unfortunately, no, the Careers Day is soley for years 7-12. For students below year 7, we would encourage you to attend on the weekend.


Can my child use their Children’s University passport at Science Alive?

Yes, Science Alive! is officially a Children’s University accredited learning destination – be sure the visit the information booth to get it stamped off!


Will food and drinks be available at the event?

There will be food and drinks available at the Showground and GMHBA Stadium for purchase, both from retail outlets and from various food trucks. A list of vendors for the 2019 events will be available closer to the event date.



Is there a Parent’s Room I will be able to use during Science Alive?

There are parenting rooms in the Atrium Plaza and the northern Jubilee Pavilion toilets which have baby change facilities. All disabled and special needs toilets include a fold down nappy change table. Microwaves are available in the parenting rooms. If you need any assistance, please ask at the Information Booth.


Can I bring my pet to Science Alive?

Sorry, only hearing and seeing guide dogs and animals that are approved as part of the event are permitted within the event.
