Meet our wonderful Science Alive ambassadors for 2018!


  • Brock Mead

    School-based Apprentice.

    Brock moved to St Patrick’s Technical College for Year 11, he is now a School-based Apprentice studying a Certificate III in Engineering with TAFE SA.

  • Camille Jenkinson

    NRM Education Officer with Natural Resources Adelaide & Mount Lofty Ranges.


    Camille studied Environmental Science as well as Teaching which helped pave the way to her current position as NRM Education Officer for Natural Resources Adelaide and Mt Lofty Ranges.

  • Daniel Gibbons

    DST Cadet with Weapon Systems Technology Branch.


    Daniel studied maths and computer science at the University of Adelaide. At DSTG, he is currently using machine learning to optimise missile trajectories.

  • Helen Lawrence

    Graduate Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin.

    Helen has always enjoyed problem solving which is why she was attracted to study the Bachelor of Software Engineering with Honours.  Upon reaching the conclusion of her studies, she secured a position at Lockheed Martin as a Graduate Software Engineer in the Human Factors team working on Australia’s future Submarine Fleet.  Helen is currently focused on understanding the proposed design of the Future Submarine’s Control Room and is looking at ways the space can be optimised for Australia’s future submariners.

  • Hoang Pham

    Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronics).


    Hoang is currently in his second year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronics) Program at the University of South Australia. He is also a member of the FSAE motorsport club based at the Mawson Lakes Campus.

  • Jon Falzon

    Fluid Technologist.

    Jon is a Mechanical engineer who’s passion for solving challenges and aspiring to develop innovative solutions has led him to work for Naval Group Australia on the Future Submarine Program.

  • Rachel West

    Demonstrator and Student Ambassador at Flinders University, Casual Lab Assistant at Shaw and Smith.

    Rachel is a PhD candidate at Flinders University who studies analytical chemistry and is researching the analysis of drugs and explosives.

  • Vladislav Zhelezarov

    Bachelor of Aviation (Pilot).

    Vlad is currently in his second year of the Bachelor of Aviation (Pilot) Program at the University of South Australia. Vlad is also the current President of the Aviation Student Organisation at UniSA.
